Firefly wrote:ms.naliaa:- Waxing is actually much better than shaving. Don't ever shave - the hair grows back thicker, and you'll also have those nasty stubbles. With shaving your more likely to get ingrown hair too - which looks unpleasant. I'd rather use hair removal creams than shave. Most beauticians recommend waxing - hair grows back finer, and you'll have smoother skin too. It doesn't make your skin sag lol - that sounds like one of those myths. I don't have hair on my legs either- Alhamdulillah. I think us Somalis are fortunate in that department.

I know you get those little bumps and their super annoying and ITCHY!
But waxing (in the long term) is worse to me..and I think that pulling of the skin is not a myth hun. I mean its true that ur skin looses elasticity over time..but do you wanna speed up that proess?
I sometimes get my eyebrows doene..but I get them threaded.

It sounds like old wives' tale to me, lol. As far as I'm aware, it's loss of collagen which makes skin sag, and it's mostly caused by sun exposure. But I could be wrong. My next door neighbour she's in her 30s, and she's been waxing since she was a teen, and you should see her legs - they look like the legs of a 20 yr old model. It's all comes down to taking care of yourself and I guess people have different skin elasticity. You're right tho, I wouldn't want to speed up the process, lol - there's always laser hair removal, if you can afford it. But I've heard it's painful.

Threading is best for eyebrows. But it's haraam, which is why I've stopped. Sometimes I'm so tempted to just do it.

When I was younger...I used to sometimes use my brothers' razers and as I got older...id use my bf..and I actually use his right now too...(I keep a stach of his razers in a closet). Why is it haram to do the eye brows and not the armpit or bakini line?

lol@using your brother's razors. You funny chick.

Sis, as I understand it, the bikini line and underarms are meant to be trimmed for hygiene reasons, whereas, the eyebrows are just done for beautification, and this is considered altering Allah's creation.

black-velvet:- It seems like only the Brits find this funny..

Salaam peeps, :rose:

Firefly, macaanto I didn't find this too funny, mildly funny. :| Americans I need to stay away from them :x

Hey girls how about epilator, I heard it is similar to waxing, I wouldn't mind using that I think I'll try that. I'm not a fan of waxing, too much pain and trouble.

What is wrong with guys having hair on their chest and body? I think it is fine and he doesn't need to shave, he needs to leave that to me. :x

1_londoner:- Except for Babygirl iyo Ismahan, I think they're Brits deep down.

SnS:- Really? I was goin' to buy it. :|

WSM:- Salaam babes. I knew you wouldn't find it funny. So typical of you. Epilator is really painful - my friend uses it but she acts like it's a walk in the park. After she's finished her skin is blood red. So I wouldn't recommend it to you, 'cause we both know you can't stand any sort of pain, lol. Have fun tonight huni. :rose:

Buhodle-Gurl:-

Ismahan:- Are you sure darlin'?
