Cawaroow saaxib horta aan ku waydiiyee...recently this buddy of mine had an angioplasty here in canda sow maad garan...I don't know how serious a procedure this is but si yaro aad u fudud ayey iskugu dhacday nasiibki. al qasti, it took about 4 months, from the moment they diagnosed the blockage to his return to work...wuuna duulayaa right now, and all of that was entirely covered by OHIP as you well know...The only issue he had was that he wanted a private room while he was at the hospital but they had none available so he got a semi and he only stayed there for 3 days. A little while before that, another acquaintance who lives in france went to the US for vacation...he and his wife were at the grand canyon when he fell ill. He found out that a major nerve that goes to his heart was blocked at something percent and he needed in la qalo...he got the same type of operation that my buddy here had and I hear that he was billed $75 000...waan u qaadan waayay! Is this possible? walaahi miskiinka bila insurance maraynkanka ku noqda waa inu salaada iyo ducada badsada
Mayee saaxib, I think my buddy went thorugh something a little more invasive...Maybe it wasn't an angioplasty but he was telling me inay farafareeyen, wey jeexeen his chest cavity, they stopped his heart for some time and he was hooked up to this machine that was pumping his blood, in the meantime, they harvested a vein from his foot or thigh or something and transplanted it into his heart, so that the bood could be re-routed through it...No wonder these insurance companies were fighting tooth and nail to prevent health care reform in U.S...The damn thing is big business! But from the sound of it, it looks like your friend had a simple angioplasty, a minor procedure.. compared to open heart surgery
..whereas the other guy in the US may have gotten a coronary by-pass.. which is more complicated and is an open heart surgery..hence the cost.
