waw 80% qaat chewers?

how come i havent met one.

i should open a topic and ask how many of somalinetters their fathers chew or some thing.lol

80% of somali men are khat chewers? You're pulling that statistic out of your ass, ms helwaa.

My daughter will most likely only marry a man who is approved by me and her mother, just like I would only marry a woman who is approved by my parents. That's how we operate in our Somali culture.

As for the khat issue. I'll give respect where it's due, but all the successful Somali men I've come across are not khat chewers, they don't touch that shit. Most dhalinyaro and odeyaal we see are serial chewers, and my distant uncle is the main culprit, and I have absolute no time for him at all.

80% chewing khat is a massively exaggerated percentage btw. It's just a pure random guess on your part. That stat is a load of bollocks and just made up.

there is a difference between discipline and abuse... abuse is inflicting structural and bodily damage to someone... that never happened to me and most kids

lol. it's an expression! but my bad. A lot of somali men chew khat, no doubt, but 80% is way too high. I've only know of uncle in my family that chews and that's about it.
