True. Officially, my grandma was born in 1930, but she could've been born anywhere from the end of WW1 to the end of WW2.

I would assume so but wasn't your family rural? It was mostly the large urban centers that counted birth and even among them the percentage that gave birth in hospitals.

But you are right, Somalis count their age through the seasonal change...example "I was born during 35 gu' ago" basically "35 rainy seasons ago".

Well what if the rains do not come and it is a drought year? You would have gained two years in reality where offically you only aged a year or what if the rainy seasons comes early and you aged two years officially where you aged a year in reality?

Like I said, get a dentist and examine the age of her teeth.
