A lot of people blame Somalia's state on qabiil. I want to know how much truth there is to that theory

abdi342 - You're right, I guess when a kid is qabilist it says a lot about their family and their upbringing

That is right and you cant change them. You really get stunned if you see this clan stuffs but all I do is see and act if it is disparaged. Mind you they can be very subhuman.

Salaam BV, adiga maxa ka galay habibti, :rose:

Let them have their nonsense in that section, these Somalis will never stop speaking about qabil, and it needs to be moved somewhere, or there needs to be somewhere they can speak about it. Sometimes I think it is wrong and that section should be deleted, and they shouldn't be encouraged. But then I think these 'kids' this is the only place where they can vent and cuss, and maybe they don't really mean it, waa iska hadal.

I have had a very very heated discussion about the relevance of clanism with a former forumer who was a staunch supporter of clan superiority, but finally, I put him in his rightful place.

Put him in his rightful place, eh. Was that at the top of the pyramid of Qabils?

Somalis are so fake it is amazing. Let us be realistic here, each and everyone cares about qabiil. Even Hyper goes out of his way to find his Ogaden kin and goes out of his way to label ever older Darod person here as his aunt or uncle. Not to pick on you Hyper--my bad if I called you out I am just making a point. Fah too as well when it comes to Xawaadle. Each and everyone cares about qabiil, is knowledgeable about it, and is impacted by it and EVERYONE views their qabiil in positive light. As long as people keep pointing fingers at QABIIL, Somalis will continue to be the same tired, fake, hypocritical people they have always been. Personally I want to make a difference in Somalia, I want to go and use whatever skills I learn to give back to my people but when it comes to the choice of deciding whether to go and make an impact in the land my parents are from and their extended relatives live or other lands I have no connection to besides being Somalia, then I will choose my parent's lands AND that is an example of how Qabiil is central to being Somali.

Now the problem is QABYAALAD. You can be proud of who you are, you can be appreciative and respectful and aware of qabiil by acknowledging your family's ancestral history but the moment you politicize that and put down other clans while simultaneously endorsing your qabiil then it becomes qabyaalad and that is where you fall of the track. So the topic of discussion should be about qabyaalad not qabiil. Qabiil is a fundamental everyday occurance in our culture while qabyaalad is both primitive, backward, hateful, and needs to be eradicated.

Personally the people who practice qabyaalad and in its most despicable nature like Cusmano, Ducaysane, and these other people are just kids and they will grow out of it. I was once into it and you will never catch partaking in it nowadays.

p.s. The clan politics section is a dump. And you get what you deserve for going there.
