They are already doing multi million dollar infrastructure projects and Kismayo port was the busiest in Somalia until the blockade. Mashallah

Kismayo is peaceful...their is question about that, but i think it is not because they like shabab but because they fear shabab..big difference...like if u have a son if he loves u because he fears u only that is not genuine love...just like siyad when ppl sing for him, it was not becuz they necessarily liked him but they feared him...

But kismayo is peaceful...if i hear about war in kismayo its at tops twice a year...

Hanad_M is right. Al Shabaab is not and enemy you can defeat and the only way to get peace from them is to just accept them. The problem with Mogdishu is that it houses many opportunistic thieves like those in the TFG who would rather have thousands and thousands of innocent Mogadishu civilians perish than lose their useless seats in this weak pathetic government. If they want power that bad, they should grow beards and join Al shabaab because that is where the real power in Somalia is today. Hawiye as a clan has the curse and gift of having the largest and most important city in Somalia in their land.

Just like the Taliban, Al-Shabaab will start banning everything, that my friend is an infringement on people's lives. I laughed when I heard that Taliban once banned clapping in public events.

Nobody is talking about religion here, I'm talking about Al-Shabaab and the Taliban practices. Why must people tie down everything these groups do to religion.

And AbdiWahab252...I respect and agree with this guy socially, but politically he is by far the least realist/most dumbest or biggest troll. As Shirib said, AW252 doesn't recognize that Hawiyedom has been getting raped first and foremost by Hawiyes since 1991 and still is. Its not Shabaab, its opportunistic thugs raping Hawiyedom in Xamar today, the biggest cause of problems.

If AW252 knew anything about Shabaab, he'd know that even that organization had many Hawiyes at its roots including Cumar Iman, Xassan Aweys and Shaheed Aden Xashi Ceyrow. Even still, Shabaab is a good governing system and the only reason why Hawiyes don't have it is because THEY ALLOWED the TFG (a corrupt, fucked-up, used&abused system) to live among their midst. The ICU took over Xamar easily because the Hutu warlords were easy to defeat, but now you have Hutu warlords + ICU warlords/opportunists vs. Shabaabists (probably the best governing authority in Somalia since Siad Barre).

I respect the people of Gedo, Bay, Bakool, Jubooyinka etc. for at least accepting authority, whoever may be incharge. Theres too many people in Xamar who have a unquenchable thirst for urban destructiion and warfare, and that shid doesn't make sense. Kista, Shabab came and battled Barre Hiiraale and His militia for 3 days which for Reer Kismaayo felt like a eternity. He got routed, and the people of the town simply accepted the Town's new authority and boomb theres peace.
