That hadith would also apply to Ammaar ibn yasir he was killed in a war between muslims,muawiya,ali radiyallah anhum. The question is: do you believe ammar r.a is in hellfire? Nauzbillah! The beliefs of wahabis is full of contradiction.

It's possible they are in hell. This is an authentic hadith narrated by Abu hurrairah and Saxiix Muslim. If Mucaawiye died that in that Fitnah war, It's fair to assume that he's in hell fire

You wrong by saying they(ammar,ali) all in hellfire, this hadith contradicts other hadith(and even quran):

He picked up his Rida', wore it and sat down and started narrating till the topic of the construction of the mosque reached. He said, "We were carrying one adobe at a time while 'Ammar was carrying two. The Prophet saw him and started removing the dust from his body and said, "May Allah be Merciful to 'Ammar. He will be inviting them (i.e. his murderers, the rebellious group) to Paradise and they(Muawiya´s group) will invite him to Hell-fire." 'Ammar said, "I seek refuge with Allah from affliction."


Imam Ali r.a cannot be in hellfire because he is one of the ten sahaba who will enter paradise.
