GB,
It takes a liong time to go from one-celled organisms like algae to something complex like a Bonobos Chimpanzee. But not so long to go from Bonobos to human as more than 98% of the DNA is already there.
I have seen DNA studies that postulate a first human at only 280,000 years. The mutation that produced the first skinnies was at about 180,000. All humans outside Africa descend from about 200 individual skinnies who crossed the mouth of the Red Sea about 70,000 years ago. The Australian aboriginese arrived about 60,000. All the Caucasians descend from eight women who lived in the area of the Black Sea roughly 10,000 years ago. The American Indians come from a culture similar to the Chukchi, who crossed into the new world across the Berring Sea land bridge, possibly as late as 17,000, arriving in South America only about 12,000.
I have watched a documentary on TV twice called "The Journey of Man", all based on DNA studies. Very good. See if you can find it.

This isn't the latest, and it's far from all that is available, but it's a good place to start:

Grant....based on your theory on man-evolution, the above quote makes a lot of sense. I am sorry to agree with u but i do.
By logical deductions....man evolution is the refinemen of man through time. Therefore, the aborigins who have wide nose and ape like jows, will make sense as an un-evolved specie who existed 60 000 ago-while the recent existing caucasians existed just recently 10 000 ago. We all know caucasians r more recent evolve specie due to their more aesthetically pleasing sharp features. i might be sold Grant.

have you guys heard about the negroes on the Andaman islands west of India

"The origin of Andaman islanders has been the subject of recent debate (1, 2). On the basis of analyses of complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences, Thangaraj et al. (3) concluded that two Andaman populations, the Onge and the Great Andamanese, are the direct descendants of the first emigrants from the out-of-Africa migration 50,000 to 70,000 years ago."
Re: New HIV strain discovered in africa
That said, all Negroes originate from the jungles of West Africa. They first appeared elsewhere in Africa only in the past few thousand years:
Quote:
"True Black Africans appear as a recent adaptive radiation in the above dendrograms, apparently branching off from an ancestral Pygmy population-a line of ancestry also indicated by osteological data (Coon 1962:651-656; Watson et al. 1996). This radiation seems to have occurred somewhere in West Africa. Before the Bantu expansion about 3,000 years ago, true Black Africans were absent from the continent's central, eastern, and southern regions (Cavalli-Sforza 1986:361-362; Oliver 1966). They were also absent from the middle Nile until about 4,000 years ago, at which time they begin to appear in paintings from Pharaonic Egypt and in skeletal remains from Nubia (Junker 1921)." -- the anthropologist Peter Frost (here is a detailed essay on the origins of Black Africans)
This is why Negroes all have the same flat, wide noses: because they all share the same origins in the jungles of West Africa. Had they evolved in the deserts and arid plains of Northeastern Africa and the Maghreb, then they would have the elevated and elongated noses to go with that which they of course do not. Elevated and elongated noses evolve as a physical adaptation to long-term residence (I'm talking thousands of years) in regions where there is a lack of moisture in air that's breathed in. This lack of moisture, in turn, occurs in either really cold areas like Scandinavia or in really hot, dry areas like the Sahara and Danakil deserts in North and Northeast Africa, as well as Arabia:

However....Reading the article, i have concluded that one of the two major HIV origin theories might be confirmed. These two major theories are conspiracies, but sensible nevertheless. One of course was that HIV originated in the lab of a mad american homophobic scientist or us government if you will to irradicate homosexuals in san fransisco. Second was that it originated from from the apes of africa. I am afraid the latter now makes sense.
These adoons who eat "Bush Meat" --meaning derived meat from gorillas and apes are responsible for aids.
Now how can this 62 yo cameroon woman have new strain of HIV, same strain that resemble the known simian ape hiv which have been prooved harmless to the apes immunine system. Apparently, this new strain is not harmful to the woman as well. And she was never exposed to bush meat or bitten by these gorrillas. Is it inbon in her DNA just like the apes?? Isnt this bizarre?
Long time ago, i read an article about a woman in mombasa, kenya, she had hiv that was not harming her body. She was a carrier yes, but not harmful to herself. Scientists were buffled at this idea and puzzled. The woman had ape like facial features, u know adoons like the western africa. (Broad ape like Oprah nose, wide strong ape jaws, etc etc) This then leads me to believe--adoons r direct descendants of apes.Man has evolved from ape to modern man?And with the knowledge of life first began in africa, this can make sense. But there is somewhere in Quran where some humans were cursed by a certain prophet and turned apes. Could adoons be descendants of such apes? I am puzzled.
