Well maybe she needed to make her added responsibilities towards her family clear before she married him. If a man is going to expect me to be a full-time homemaker, then I need to communicated the added responsibilities of my family to him. :|

Yeah of course, I'm not saying people shouldn't help out their families.

But remittances is no good for long term prospects of Somalis...with no end to sight of a lack of government and industries plus with 2nd generation Somali youth in the diaspora who will know nothing of Somalia, remittances will stop on a wide scale.

Liban born in the middle of America isn't gonna send money to hebel hebel somewhere on the otherside of the world who he has never met.

And your friend should have told her husband about her needy relatives a long time ago. Ismahan is right.

Fah,

I dont understand, why ppl can't just send money to these folks to start business or find a way to make their own living and be independent. Wallahi inshallah I want to introduce a micro financing initiative to rurual residents in Somalia especially women. They can make alot of hand made crafty items that will sell for a decent price and make a living.

Lol...my aunt already has done that in Somaliland when she went back in 03

but you're right...people should not sell themselves short and become self-reliant with the money they get from relatives

Shit like this happens, when a woman depends on a man for everything.
