luis1,
Cuba couldn't have even gotten over there without the Soviet Union, and your country was essentially used as a pawn in a war half a world away, fighting enemies that were until one year previously your allies and defending a country that until one year previously was your enemy, fighting to prevent a nation from reclaiming land colonized by a feudal empire. For a socialist country fighting to preserve the conquests of the Empire of Ethiopia in Somali country should, by rights, be something you are ashamed of, but I suppose if Communists are good at anything it's rationalizing their own hypocrisy.

The fact that it is obviously a war that holds deep national pride for Cuba is just kind of sad.

I agree with you, your words are right,we betrayed Somalia in 1978 but the important issue is not our behaviour in Ogaden. The Important thing here is:We defeated and crushed Somalia, that is the only thing which cares at the end of the day.

Dahl:The fact that it is obviously a war that holds deep national pride for Cuba is just kind of sad.

My only desire in this life is:the somali people never forget us and our beautiful flag on the hills of Jijiga.Your country will never forget our victory.

The glory is the only God for cubans

Mr Dahl, Let me tell you my opinion about your people:

I know very well the history of Somalia from Ahmed Gurey until now,
Many many countries(Ethiopia,Italy,England,France,Cuba and Russia) have defeated Somalia since 1543 but those countries never broke the somali spirit and until now the somali spirit is still alive.Somalia is a strange country you can beat it,one, two, three times but they always be back, there are few countries like this.

Somalia your past is glorious and your futur brilliant.

Your defeat in 1978 was a disaster but your victory in 1993,showed the world, the skills of somali warriors.

Long Live "Mad Mullah",the man who stopped 3 armies for 2 decades.

Ogaden War Film (Somali-Ethiopian war): The 1977-1978 War between Somalia and Ethiopia

It is a film documenting the war between Somalia and Ethiopia (War of '77) in which the Somali army successfully captured much of Ethiopia's largest cities before being pushed back by the Russians and Cuba who allied with the Amhara.
