Btw, I heard of this amusing story where a Nomad Warsangeli-Abgaal man watering his camels from a borehole in Mahadaay was stabbed in the back following a water dispute. Another man saw the stabbed man scream with pain and he called for an avenge and help.

"Ar yaa Cumara, Aryaa Cabdalla, Ar Ceelkii Ciyaa ka yeereysee"

"O my tribesmen of Omar and Abdalla, run to help. I hear cries of pain at the borehole"

In few mins, his clansmen came in droves armed with poisoned spears. They avenged and took their wounded man.

Lol I heard that story, but there some differences to the story I read, for example in my story Warsangeli Abgaal were having fights with another sub-clan of Abgaal (not major, I think, silly clan disputes). So one day the other Abgaal sub clan came across a man they thought was Warsangeli (even thought he was a Wacaysle living with Warsangelis) and so they pushed him down the Ceel, and then he was calling for help and went:

'Ar yaa Cumar aha, Ar yaa Cabdalle' and people who re-tell the story add 'Muxu ceel ka yaree Cawo' Thats how I heard it.

BTW, you know Warsangeli Abgaal, had a brother, just like Agonyar's younger brother is Cisse Harti. But Warsangeli killed his brother

Another thing, odey Warsangeli had Cumar and Cabdalle, but he also had a foster kid (I think called Ahmed) he found the kid by the beach, I was told?

I didn't know Adoow was Warsangeli. I always see him in Maakhir section giving us Warsangeli from North a big support.

Btw, Warsan, an uncle of mine(May Allah rest him in peace) and two of his sons were at one time fetched from our house by Shiiqaal militia at the height of civil war in early 1992. I was quite young.

They were to be murdered but suddenly a man who knew my uncle spotted them and he screamed. He told the Shiiqaal militia that these guys are Warsangeli and warned them of a bigger consequence if they don't set the captives free.

Being Darood or not didn't matter to him and he was Warsangeli Abgaal.

There are a # of stories like that. Well known ones.

My uncle came home later and we were so relieved walaahi.

After like three months, some of our family members moved to the North and others went to Kismaayo.

I'm glad they were saved, alhamdulilah. I don't know where people get the idea that the sins of the father should be cast on the son! No bloody way. Likewise, the wrongs of an individual should not reflect on his clan and they shouldn't pay the price certainly. But Somalis they do things the jahil way, kill the whole family, no why not the whole clan.

Twisted, Fyi the Cismaan Ibraahim* sub-clans of Riighaye and Cawrmale get rich farm lands in Juba region. BTW, Sanaag is the greenest region in the north.

Warsangeli Tribes must unite. They are so numerous like the Oromo but hardly know each other though they are aware of the blood relations.
