That is frankly by far the most ridiulous excuse I've heard uttered by a man. So men's duties as father, uncles, brothers cease just b/c they are not in high paying reputable positions? Being a role model to your children is far more than that, character building, religious, ethical and moral teachings by actions and setting good examples to their children is what is needed. There is nothing wrong with being a taxi driver, as long as you are providing a xalaal living for your family and continuing with your parental duties.

Psychological toll my butt. What these men need to do is build a friggin backbone, put away the empty pride and be MEN and do WHAT MEN DO...PROVIDE for their children. AKHAAS

Waa ruun. Imagine being a mayor and next thing you know your doing security jobs. This can have a psychological affect. But Pride also leads to this, as there is no shame in doing a low payed, low skilled job.

How is it ridiculous? imagine working hard all your life, striving to reach the top, and when you finally do it you are forced to leave it all behind and become a taxi driver in a foreign country. I`m not making up an excuse for dead beat dads, it`s just that some people made it in the west while other`s lost their high status and their well earned reputation, but that should not hold you back in any sense you should do what you can for yourself and your family
