Tigre have no long term aspirations in Somaliland, this is why they do not support it unconditionally. They are not even interested in the port.

S/Land is completely irrelevant in regional politics. It has nothing of worth, to be frank.

It's through compromise that the TPLF were forced to use that port. It isn't their first choice by any stretch of the imagination.

They are forced to settle for it until the international courts settle the Eritrea/Ethiopia issue, which judging by current development and the increase of diplomacy (Afewerki appears to be willing to form a tacit alliance with TPLF), should be soon.
