Its just on this forum I see that Hawiye are constantly referred to as Hutu, I'm a little baffled.

Hawiye are called Hutu, because supposedly their crimes during the '91 civil war were as barbaric as the Hutu genocide against the Tutsis. In this example, Daarood are the Tutsis and the savage Hutus are the Hawiye.Crazy Cat Lady wrote:I have a question, what's this hutu/hawiye thing about?
