You should go visit Somalia/Jilib at least once b4 you kick the bucket.

if it proves too dangerous then you may consider visiting Juula and Jawaay Islands (Jubada Hoose Islands) they look the same as Jilib and have Somali Bantu locals mote like your 60's freinds.
