OK since nobody answered your question then I'll give it a go, well first of all roti isn't a word traditionally from the somali language so if we changed the way it is pronounced then it would be no different to us calling suleyman as saleebaan or calling uthman cismaan.
Also reer waqooyi people can pronounce 'r' just like in beer or bariis, however you could say that most reer koonfur cannot pronounce 'dh' as they use gabar when the plural for it is gabdho.

I know roti is not a Somali word, and Canjeera is a share name in all of the Horn, but you mutated both to make Rodhi and Laxoox..so the question is why have you not followed through the pattern and called it Bedhbedha?

BTW, most reer Waqooyi I have seen cannot roll the R if their life depended on it, it comes out to "rdh" Bardhiis. The sound reer Waqooyi make in "rdh" is exactly equal to the r sound I have seen in Oromo and Afar. Perhaps you guys borrowed it?

I don't know why they stuck with the name of berbera but I heard the name origins from ber-ber and they are some sort of tribe in morocco.
As for the prounounciation of 'r' well there are some that overuse 'dh' and there are some that don't and I'm am of the latter type. Well canjeero is originally injera in ethiopia but I have heard lots of somalis call it canjeelo and we changed it completely and called it laxoox. All in all I'm suprised by the amount of arabic words us reer waqooyis use but we are only beaten by reer jibuutis who use words like kaniif.

Lol @ Cambuulo and muufo, you are making Gedoites more reer magaal then they are. Think Benadir and beelaha Abgaal and reer Xamar. Ku lahaa cambuulo and mafuuo, regional stereotypes gone wrong

So are you from Bedhbedha or Budhco?

The question is rather to the Walaweyn, Walaweyns if your accent is right why when using Gabar as plural you use the reer Waqooyi accent and say it " gabdho" as opposed to " gabro " loool.

Nothing wrong with making Rooti sound somali just like Gaari= Gaadhi and Roodhi, the reer Waqooyi classical somali is consistent.

That is exactly what I mean Xkeyse, since it is consistent, why have you not continue the trend with Hadhgeysa and Budhco.

I think Ber-bera came from the word Ber-Beri wich means HOT.
