Somali Ethiopian Community Of Minnesota

For Immediate Release.


The Somali Ethiopian Community of Minnesota is saddened by the loss of innocent lives on both sides in the Daroor Conflict. We believe the two clans are one and only one. They have lived and coexisted peacefully for
decades. The Somali Ethiopian Community of Minnesota genuinely believes that, shedding more blood and the use of force can solve no difference.

Dialogue between the two communities and respect for life, can solve the problem, as is customary to the two communities.

We, the Somali Ethiopian Community of Minnesota call upon:

1. Both Communities to cease all hostilities immediately.
2. Create an environment for dialogue and subsequent trust to solve the underling issues to prevent any future conflict and loss of unnecessary lives.
3. Religious leaders, Clan elders, Intellectuals, and Politicians of Somaliland and Somali State of Ethiopia, to have a genuine desire and neutrality, to bring a lasting solution to the recurring conflict in Daroor
and surrounding areas.
4. The Somali State and Ethiopian Federal government, to deploy enough Security Forces to the conflict areas and ensure a lasting peace between the two communities, by engaging local elders and local leaders, to find a lasting solution.

The Somali Ethiopian Community reminds Somaliland leaders and politician to respect local politics in the Somali region of Ethiopia, and refrain from contributing to mistrust between the two communities. We are also reminding the Somali region administration and the Ethiopian Federal government, that, Security of the Daroor region and that of the Somali State, is their sole responsibility.

I heard it was reer Yunis of the Maxamud Daud which fought with reer Sugule
but my sources didn't bother about the reason of the skimrish which proved to be actually very tough with heavy losses.
Actually they were more focused on the Daroor district issue itself claiming reer Sugule should have never been allowed to enter under the name of Garxajis.
Casualties range from 40 -50 to 70 - 200 in those intesive battle days.
It's pointless to talk about war result, its like when France go to war against France , but I gotta tell you, reer Sugule got beated severely in that fight.
