Allah's laws are timeless, they cant be changed to suite each new civilization. Everything around us might have changed from the time of the prophet pbuh, but mankinds problems are still the same. If you want your religion to be updated and modernized each year till it has no relationship with its stated objective, thats wrong..

Firstly are you trying say that we should modernise the deen to fit todays soceity? That is a in direct insult to Allah! do you not think Allah could forsee the future? why would he make a act permissable and why would the prophet saw practice it if it was to be not practical to his future ummah?

What do you mean instead of using religion? what would you like me to cite my desires? or allow western thinking to dictate my views and consider it outdated because non muslims feel it to be outdated?

Also it is a great wisdom regardless of religion as the number of women heavily out weigh the number of men and therefore it is as protection for women. Also I am muslim, my views are in accordance with Islam.

The Prophet has commanded us to be good to slaves, does that mean slavery is ok as long as you treat your slave good? Polygamy should be banned like slavery, outdated and irrelevant. Only works to the detriment of women in a patriarchal society.

If a woman has two husbands, is she going to satisfy both of the husbands equally?

I know some parts of India do it, only because there are less women in those areas.

I would like you to haved cited a rational for your reason instead of repeating "Allah has allowed it". In many countries men outnumber women, does that mean you support women taking 2 husbands. Religion is based on logic, polygamy whether we like it or not is outdated. I do not want to modernise relgion, but to interpret in light of the society we live in. Take travelling ban on single women for example, is it relevant in today's society where travelling has completely changed in a century? It was dangerous for a woman to travel in a desert with a camel back then, but not today.

It all comes down to power, in the West women can tell their husbands to fuck off if he tries to marry another chick, whereas the women in places like Somalia most of the time aren't even informed when their husbands decide to halve their kids inheritance
