Cumar,

Adna is a great person who sacrificed her life and her retirement for her people, but let us not forget that her people let her do that..If she didn't have a peaceful environment to work it would have been difficult for her. So let us give some of the credit to the people who chose peace..

I know places where Doctors tried to do the same but were chased away because a person whose whole medical education is confined to the 3 month training of the Red Cross wants to act as the Doctor of that place...and this one has more power than the real Doctor as he is from Laandheere Qabiil..Believe me I know one incident of that nature

Is there any idea or any suggestions about the khat..? how to ban it?

walaal..I would love to see peacefull strong united Somalia..but the reallity is just different..somalia is full of selfish faction leaders who only serve the further destruction of the somali nation..almost all of our clan leaders/ elders work and serve the enemy of Somalia..so how can we ever achieve anything or get peace when we have so many traitors and foreign secret agent's amongs us..its just impossible..thats why I have no choice but try to forget Somalia..

Abdisamed,

I see your point really..Laakiin when you visit Somalia, don't feel like something needs to be done? Even little thing helps..and the most important thing is not to lose hope  Whenever I go I try at least to bring few groups together towards the common goal..My biggest problem is not really the thugs...But the Khat..It become difficult for me to expand some projects because of the Khat..

You can't ban khat, because the consequences will be crazy if you know what I mean. However you could educate them - although I know that they won't listen. Seriously khat is a sensitive issue and you can't force people to quit so you can only make ducaa for them.

Can I ask you a question, if a man chews khat are you going to get his sins aswell - if the answer is no, then why do you want to force him to quit all you can do is advise him.

Kambuli, if khat was banned throughout all of somalia what do you think would be the consequences

Abdisemid,

If the khat is banned all over Somalia the consequences will be as follows;

1. Millions of $$$$ will be saved and therefore would have been directed to the betterment of the society.

But I don't think it will just happen that smoothly.. :|

a) Maybe black market will emerge.
b) Uprisings will happens...etc etc
c) It will be very difficult I have heard :|

Kambuli there’s going to be huge Qaad project here in the UK coming soon, first of its kind. It will national thing. It will be televised, I heard the Somali channel (which I totally forgot its name now) will be televising it, as well as channel 4 hopefully. The NHS is funding it. Some brothers and sisters got together to get qaad banned, it going to go as far as the government/Downing Street. The NHS is involved if it all goes well, Insha’Allah this is the first step for hopeful result in the UK.

Qaad will be banned.

khat is banned in shabaab controlled areas of somalia..
khat makes the brain very stupid..you see fathers chewing day and night forgetin their wife and kids..you see youngesters chewing their future away..
khat should be banned..and in my opinion in any one cought on selling khat illegally after the ban should get the death sentence in that way people will not create black markets for khat..
