The Garre who live in Shabellada Hoose, Baay and Gedo are Somali to the core. Most of the pictures we see of the Somali's with big afro's are all Garre. Garre is a subclan of Digil

However the Garre who live in Ethiopia and Kenya have had a lot of interaction with borana and oromo kinda have taken up some of that culture, but still say they are Somali for the most part. In Ethiopia u always hear Somali Garre and Borana fighting each other.

Garre is Somali because when the Marexaan in Liibaan region fight the Oromo, the Garre always fight alongside them. Their language is closer to the Boran language than it is to the Somali language though. They may be a hybrid group, you know an oromo group that became muslim and in the process became Somali as well.

its a sad thing that some insecure kids in here think that being a proud Hawiyo means being proud of USC, and they are even willing to go as far as calling rapist, drug misusing, child soldiers, murderous, destructive outlaws Mujahideen

but with your logic, Ogaden, Galjecel, Jareer and what not were Hawiyo ?

Much earlier, when they came out of their mom's womb. But they fought for Hawiye interest for the first time in 91 and for that we are thankful

Degodiye did not welcome the USC because they don't even live close to the border. THey share Wajer district with the Ogaden and have no real presence in Mandera district which is a mainly Garre district with the exception of small pockets of Muralle and Marexaan in the northern parts.

Murux, I believe the Degodiye are Somali too. They actually used to live in present day Northern Gedo but Marexaans have pushed them across the border into Wajeer district peacefully.

The Garre language is pretty much afaan oromo in the borana dialect with a little accent, either then that it's all afaan oromo. Oh and the Oromos do claim Gharri(garre), under the Borana moiety.

Salam.
