Angola has good politics and is relatively safe. 9k GDP per capita is 9k GDP per capita, it takes more than one torture case or a single corrupt politician to change that.

People stop looking at flashy things such as buildings and infrastructure, there is so much more needed for a nation to be considered one of the best. UAE is by far the most ‘modern’ country in the world, almost futuristic but it comes nowhere near Western countries when we consider things like healthcare, human rights (Pakistani workers for example) or even freedom (Internet websites get blocked often)…

In France an illegal immigrant would get top notch health care if he became sick, in most rich Arab countries he would be sent to his home county immediately or even lock up.

Dawwa, Not talking about fancy buildings, but since 2002 Angola has been very stable. The worst thing that happened in the past decade was some soccer players being shot at in a rural area of the country; the same can happen to a black man in Kentucky.

I just think its weird how Ethiopia scored so high, especially as a heavily pro-Western country, against much less Western-friendly countries. The rating makes no sense.
