Those two are my uncle, no lie walahi (since a lot of lies have been exposed today lol). They are my mums first cousins, There mum and my grandad AUN (mums dad) are brothers and sisters. To be honest i would say they are far from famous, in fact their uncle (my mum uncle as well) is xoogsade AUN, owns a coffee and logistics company in ethopia, very well respected family and more know than the prof abdi and ahmed.

They're one of our most famous intellectuals, if it wasn't for them Somali studies would be IM Lewis studies, I think they are very well known and respected.

Well duh you would think i would know the status of my uncles. What i'm tryna say is they are respected but not famous in a somali sense. The average somali in any country will probably not of heard of them, but would know other individuals like abu sittar (owner of dallo) or dahabshill, therefore compared to them they are far from famous.

To be honest all those famous somalis you have named I haven't heard of their families. Also I actually don't know of any famous somali families, maybe mine will be

What about Dhiigshiil and his son? All the diaspora Somalis and all those who receive remittance from the west know Dhiigshiil. The son is not as famous as his father but he runs all the business operations of Dahabshil Money Transfer company and will probably become more well known soon.
