New Zealand has nice weather, absolutely gorgeous place, nice tourist destinations; all in all GREAT place to visit. Don't think it's the best place to live (too many racist skin heads) and employment prospects are low, thus Somali Kiwis tend to flock to ozzy

It all depends on what you are after, working, developing a career, doing business, raising a family, etc.

NZ - is beautiful, fresh, calm, and quite. a good place to retire I'd say but the employment prospects there aren't that great an thats the reason most Somalis left for Australia and US (I included) shortly after they get the passport.

Australia - is much bigger country 24 mil v/s NZ's 4 Milion ppl, It has many well developed cities, Sydney is the business city an the biggest,
Melbourne is the sporting capital and has a laid back culture and somewhat European cosmopolitan feel to it, goo to raise a family there , its also where the most Malis live.

Brisbane is the white Aussie city with the resorts an tourists.

Perth is closest to Africa with African like weather, it is popular with the Muqayiliin as Jaad grows there mainly as a gardening shrub, many locals wonders why these skinny Africans are grazing or their garden plants.

there are more an more Yankees and Brits moving to Australia nowadays, I guess they figured life is easier on this side of the world.

Somalis who live in Aus are not as affluent as the US Somalis though, in terms of how many scholars, educators, Doctors, ex-statesmen, Businessmen, etc. the Somalis here are mainly in he Taxi and other semi-skilled labour industries. the are fragmented and have clan based community organisations, they also have some businesses in two Melbourne malls.

I mean you never hear that in Canada or U.S because being multicultural is the norm not the exception nothing to make apparent. I guess we say "diversity" in place. Australia had officially adopted a multicultural policy, reversing a white Australia immigration policy used til the late 60s. They have accepted immigrants from Vietnam, Lebanon, Turkey, China etc to mark a shift in policy.

New Zealand as I said is exceptionally beautiful country full of majestic scenery. the education system there is way better than Australia's. However, it's economy isn't as large as Australia and employment opportunities aren't that plenty especially the Blue colour jobs required by new migrants like the Somalis.

NZ's economy is mainly dependant on the primaries industry i.e. Agri and meat product exports mainly to Japan and other Asian markets and in some instances America and middle east.
