Actually, the Americans are surprised at how effective and fast Pakistan has been able to crush the Talibs. The Talibs have been wiped out of Swat and North Waziristan. The Talibs last territory in South Waziristan will be attacked in few months if not sooner.

When did America ever come to the rescue of Pakistan? Pakistan fights an enemy 10x its size and always come out on top. It is to this day, the only country that has 100% kill ratio against Israel Air Force

Pakistan is good in reverse engineering. They have working relationships on weapons technology with china as well. They perfected the korean and chinese missile technologies they bought. Iran is good also. If both countries had good economies and were free to buy technologies to upgrade and produce weapons, they would compete with the US.

Where do you get this from? There is a difference between Reverse Engineering and Transfer of Technology. When Pakistan buys a big ticket item, it usually asks for a transfer of technology so that it can manufacture these technologies in its own country. Pakistan is better than China when it comes to Cruise Missiles and Nuclear Technology. Actually, it was Pakistan that gave the Chinese Uranium Enrichment Technology. North Korea is like years behind Pakistan.

And NO ONE can compete with the US. Not at least in the next 2-3 decades. America still shits on the world when it comes to technology.
