Yep focked up, reminds me when i was little younger, working in retail. Somali lady would come upto me and ask, habo do you have this item in stock, i would actually go and look and tell her no if it wasnt in stock. Right in front of me she would then ask my cadaan collegue who would walk to the back, sit down for a bit and come out and say no, even if we had it in stock. Use to make me lol.

I've had a different experience. I've been in this situation a few times, and the parents were quite receptive. They felt it was better hearing it from a fellow Somali than Ajanabi, and obviously this ajanabi was present when they were sayin' this to me. :|

There she goes! You shoulda told you co-worker "I got this..." and played ping pong with her head. A man did that to me before, the only difference is that asked me in English first. Then I replied in English too. Afterwards, he figured I was a habesha that's when he went to my co-worker and asked HIM in Somali. I told him "Hey, I got this, I know what he needs". I was messing with him so bad Walle. I wasn't disrespectful or anything, I just confused the hell out of him.

Honestly speaking, there are some kids who don't need SLD classes. Like kids who just came from Africa or Asia right? Some of these kids are 3rd or 4th grade and never been to school which means they don't know their ABCs and their basic addition. It takes intense training and patience to get these kids caught up. Then again, maybe that's what they need.
lol....You know whats even crazier, though? There's thing called Hidden Curriculum in the Western Education system, thats considered that most crucial lesson of ones entire time in school. When a kid's sent to school at the age of 5 or 6, everything they are taught that entire first year, has to do with showing them how to behave. I dont even think they focus on reading and writing much. lol. Its all about " stand up, sit down, get in line, keep it down, dont run around, Take out the books, and putting em' away"...Just the fact that there is a specific time to learn and a specific time to play (recess/after the class day is done). Adiga basically conforming to the Social norms of the west. Now, unfortunately its only a one time lesson, and is usually never repeated again leaving the children of immigrants disadvantaged when the come here at an older age and are sent to school with other students who already know whats expected of them or know how to "learn". When they do something that's different, or have a hard time adjusting, they are said have learning disabilities, etc.

Nobleman & surrender: loool. Isnt it insane how our folks are always in competition with one another? Even if he's a cabbie he trusts no Somali doctor and tells you "waxba ma yaqaan, ama wuu ii xasdayaa - ii raadi a second opinion from a "white" not even a black, yah, but a "white" one. Now Thats Messed up. lol.
