I'm sorry to be beating a dead horse but I saw an article this morning on Huffpost that had me in stitches. They're previewing an Obama interview with Bloomberg where he was asked about the JP Morgan & Goldman's sachs' Bonuses and his response, in true Obama fashion was timid or tepid at best. This underwhelming president has been such a let down to his most ardent supporters that some are now distancing themselves from him. Rachel Maddows said the other day that she's not really disappointed in him because she never felt that he was that prog. to begin with. I say "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and their peddling of false hope

America is a centrist nation, not a liberal or conservative nation. Anyone who rules from the fringes is a failure like Carter and George Bush. Obama cannot be Howard Dean in Leadership and your problem is you are taking the Huff Post seriously as an indictment for what the average American thinks about Obama.

About the specific bonus, America is the great capitalistic nation on Earth. The number one corporate society with the biggest multinationals and strongest banks in the world. Who in their right mind thinks the U.S government is going to crack down seriously on precisely the same institutions that cement American control globally even more than the military? The U.S government has already done a lot to make sure banks and the likes don't put themselves in the same situation again but all this fuss and desire to try to have greater control over them is ridiculous. The extreme Left has got to accept models of socialism will never be acceptable in the greatest capitalistic nation on Earth.

The U.S government had no say in bonuses before and neither are they comfortable with having a say now and want to leave the position of having a say as fast a possible.

Skippa,

Saxiib, the Republicans passed the largest tax cuts in Bush's first term using their majority vote in the Senate, 51 votes for it. Obama can't even get his own party to vote in lock step when they had the upper hand.

Bush and his Republicans were more effective at getting their agenda through congress than Obama who has been punked by the Speaker of the House and Senate.

Reid's obviously the weakest of this otherwise "unholy" alliance. I'm pretty sure he'll luck out in the upcoming race, but has more or less been rendered useless as a majority leader. He cant seemed to rally his own party, and has proven time and again that he's got no balls. He's the empitome of why the dems are spineless. Nancy's puke-worthy but manages to somehow get things thru the house. I imagine her party keeping her as their speaker for as long as they hold the majority. As for Obama, he really oughta bring out the iron gloves. This moderate thing isnt working for him at all, as he's loosing support literally both left and right. :|
