Why is Somali Galbeed called Ogadenia? That is deception

Ever since the Berlineise Conference of 1884 the region has been known as Ogaden so changing a region name is way over the top we must have a bit of respect for history.The name doesn't make any difference here. This is the card ethiopians used telling other clans in the region that this is not their war. It's part of the divide policy of the regime.? Why must you dwell on a trivial useless issue as a name over an entire struggle that has cost millions of lives and property that has spanned over 50 years?


Why should it be named Somali-Galbeed? The region is NOT located in Somalia. It is called Ogadenia and it will continue to be called Ogadenia.

What is your fear of this clan having their name on a region? Fear that another clan has whole region while your clan(insert clan A) doesnt have?

Naming the region somaligalbeed will reinforce ideas that the ONLF is fighting to reunite with Somalia. Doing so will make it seem like the ONLF is opting to seperate from Ethiopia to create greater somalia, which will cause negative reaction from the international community, thus forcing them to lose credibility for their cause. This is a war between Ethiopia and the inhabitants of Ogaden. we are not going to jeopardize that by naming ourselves "Somaligalbeed' or anything in reference to Somalia as a means of pleasing people like u.

^^the reason the name has to be changed is to include all somali tribes that lives in tha region..do you honestly think that by keeping the name ogadenia will help further the idnependancy of tha region while it has a certain clan name....what you havent realize is that its been so many years that ONLF has been fighting for self-autonomy and at no one point did they actually became close to attain it that goal..even at the weakess point of ethiopia, ONLF couldnt make a tend in term of their goal...the reason why? bcuz ethiopia could easily counterattact by using the somali clan card and use it to create feuds between somalis...so since this is the issue and we could all see ethiopia cards why not counterattack and create a new name that will encompass all somali...this tactic of naming the region ogaden was done by the emperior of ethiopia to divide and conquer..its the same way that french did with jabuuti when they called it territory of ciise and afar instead of somali and afars..they always use a powerful clan but that does not represent a clear majority in the whole population...

also ogaden are not the majority of somalis in kiliinka shanaad so how to you think will happen if ever they are granted independance ( a mini somalia part 2)..it will be clan versus clan..

finally if theres a jabhaad that include all clans and somali tribes were in the same boat, i believe ethiopia will be taking them seriously..but a jbhaad that represent a clan that is not majority, well thats another story...

If the name was changed to something a more genral, other clans who live in that area would have been fighting with you guys intead of fighting against you. I cant see things changing for the better by clinging on to this name as if you settle in the entire area by your self. Other clans need to feel included so they can partake in the strugle in large numbers and take the qashin out for good.

It's rather amusing that every cat wants to drop that 'if the name was changed' line. So what if there are other clans in the area? Why haven't they fought? I am sure something as trivial as a name didn't keep them in their homes when thousands of their brothers and sisters were getting massacred. If they reside by the land and have been for generations, then what more do they want? A representation? Really? So If they won't fight for a land that they have been living in for generations, what makes you think they will fight just because they are reperesented? If anything, it sounds like those other clans want to live in the land without a fight, and their excuse is 'change the name'. Moreover, why should I care about a name in the event a muslim/somali brother/sister is in need of my assistance? Ogaden is a land and ONLF, though they might have been abortive at times, have been successful over the years. Ethiopia is a might military power, and has been superpower as far primitive ages. These are the people that were recognized as superpower in the time of the prophet pbuh, so clearly they won't be defeated easily. All of you who ask for a name change, either fight for your people regardless of a name, unconditionally or simply sht the fock up.
