I'm a Muslim Oromo and I don't believe in Oromiyaa. Few simple reasons;

1. The idea that a christian or waaqeyfata Oromo is nearer to me or superior to a gurage or harari muslim is against my religion.

2. If the idea is meant to be founded on some historical basis, historically christian Oromos are part and parcel of the Ethiopian state and political elite. Something nationalists tend to conveniently overlook.

3. Constitution of the Islamic state of Medina founded by the Prophet(saw) explicitly states that the believers are Ummah Waahida duuna an-naas (One Ummah excluding others).

It's all just puppetry really. Even our ancestors were making unity based on mutual values, interests etc. They didn't really care who spoke their language.

Galkacyo makes sense (gal = Oromo - kacyo = removed) I was in overcrowded Galkacyo a few days ago and there was no traces of Oromoa....

Gal=cover or external of bushels.

Like Gal guduud= Red earth cover(red sand).

So it's not Gaalkacayo per say. IF that were the case, Gal guduud would be Gaal guduud as well.
