I am aware of what is happening in Somalia. But I willl never ever support khat. Maybe that is me...I have to be honest. Believe me I am not one those "Calooshooda la ciyaar people"!

Are we saying Khat is the only trade that is available? I would rather be a bucther than a kat dealer...

Khat is one of major problems of our country... Our limited resources is drained to Ethiopia and Kenya.

^ also a problem that should be dealt with by a government ...when one is finally allowed to exist

at the moment ..its about survival, if jaad is helping to feed their families
who cares if they're selling jaad?

The sad reality is that the majority of men back home don't work, so their wives work to support the family. Most of the jobs the women work as are: caanoley, selling fruits and selling qaad. So they are only protesting because they fear that they won't get any income after this ban.

i respect all those hard working somali women,,,khat trade is the most dangerous business in somalia.and still everyday they face that job.

I wouldn't want my mom to sell khat..and I wouldn't want my child boy or a girl to sell Kat..That is me..If you are ok with it fine, you are entitled to your opinion or to your choice.... I would rather dig musqulaha than sell kat....and if I had any powers, I would have taken the same measures that those Ehlul Sunna wal jamaca or whatever their name took...

Kat plays a big role in our country's misery....

^^Tell me what other job they could do that can feed their children. Lol@dig musqulaha that job is'nt easy and needs hard labour.

the thing is there is litterly no jobs, no economy, no industry, and there is only one demand that is open to people so supply and deman, reduce the demand and the supply will shrink. Honestly i have seen some of the women who sell this, this summer and you'd be surprised at the number of somalis that don't get any money from abroad, so they got nothing else to support the 5-9 children and family that is dependent on them

1. Vegatable sales; Qudaartii dhulka lala fadhiisan jirey.
2. Meat sale.
3. Milk sale.
4. ABC shops...
5. Little Returants. Buush?
6. Bread and muufo..sale..
7. Building matrials...
8. clothing...
9. Gas...
10. Subag iyo saliid macsaro(sesame oil)..
11. Sambuusa iyo bur...
12. Even Caday..
13. Dhuxul iyo xaabo...
The list goes on....

Why are you acting as if the Kat is the only commodity that people can sell?

I have families back home and none of them is envolved in Kat dealers...
