No apprantley abu sita family had nothing to do with it anymore. I was bemused cos i thought abu sita was wealthy, but apprantley he sold to dubai world or some other UAE based company that was affected by the reccession and they felt it was no longer finacially viable.kambuli wrote:Bad News....

Have they had any accidents? I always wondered how you guys (Reer Somalia) flew with these 'airlines'?, The planes must be old and crap surely?*Nobleman* wrote:No apprantley abu sita family had nothing to do with it anymore. Thing is with these airlines they simply lease the planes from a third party and often make only 40 dollars or so per seat.
No air conditioning and they fly to Berbera and Bosasso? wow, that is a punishment.dawwa9 wrote:^That is the strange thing about them, they have barely had any accidents. They are pretty safe
But the service is crap and there is no air conditioning inside (this is especially annoying when the plane is waiting on the landing strip)
I was there few months ago and a strange thing happened. an old lady entered the hotel and asked bluntly ' are you reer qalaf ?'. I was reading the Gulf News and I replied 'no'. And she left me alone. My question to you is: is that a MJ owned hotel? if you know that is.dawwa9 wrote:Sometimes they let the passengers wait for 35 minutes inside with the heath
Even with elderly people inside
^Jubba hotel, Yes, near the entrance of the gould souq?

I dont know the folks who own it, just some mediocre hotel, never paid too much attention to it.![]()
Most of the somali businesses in the UAE are either owned by Isaaq or MJ's so could be

Ideally yes it certainly profitable. But there is a lot of costs beyond actually flying i.e the labour in Dubai, Djoubti, Somalia, paying taxes and under hand payments to somaliland politicianskambuli wrote:Nobleman,
Ma faa;idadaa ah $40.00 a seat...?
If that is the case..If 500 people flew every month this $20,000.00 a month which is $240.000.00 a year...Not bad..
$240.000.00 in Somalia is not bad...Plus their other side business..But I am really sorry to hear that they don't own it anymore...
I was expecting to see some desert inside the city, but nothing, everything is built up and concrete. It is clean and green.dawwa9 wrote:Explain?Lord Diplock wrote: Dubai is fake though

Dubai is fake though, we went to Dubai Mall (and snow), what a strange place. I guess most Somalis there are MJs and Idoor, cos I heard their accents alot.
