Couldn't agree with you more dude. I also find it strange that they belittle someone because of a job in his past. Somehow they seem to over look that it was a job, a meaning of making a living for himself and loved ones. I wonder whether he would have qualified better in their eyes if he had been just sitting at some mafrish talking nonsense all day for years.SahanGalbeed wrote:Nothing either strange or funny about it . Gatspy,
To some Somalis, it is an insult to make an honest living doing working a 9 to 5.
Walle, sometimes it bugs me to see a 60 something year old American senior citizen to be working as a guard mall while his skinny equivalent is sipping on coffee courtesy of the state benefits.
FHA1223,
Warya, the good General never stole a dime from the former regime to fund a lavish lifestyle unlike some.
An honest job beats chilling at the Skyline Starbucks paying for your lattes with SSI benefits.

Last time it was a school teacher. I see a trend here! Somalia's best hope is someone who was in employment somewhere sometime in the past. Quite right too.FHA1223 wrote:http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/world ... ia.html?hp
As for FAH1223, my account is out of commission right now...admin please re-activate it as I'm not getting a link to my new email address."One American official recently conceded that Somalia’s “best hope” was the government’s new military chief, a 60-year-old former artillery officer who, until a few months ago, was assistant manager at a McDonald’s in Germany."

Adduunka wax shaqo dad ku caaya, Somaali baa la hayaa...
Even if you have to clean the toilets it is a job and is more and more honorable and decent than sitting somewhere idly, collecting welfare and bragging, showing off and acting as a wealthy person.
But the article is not written by a Somali...

off topic ?D-Runner wrote:Damn! Why is this b!tch of a nurse always off topic and talking xaar? Listen in light of the difficult humanitarian situation facing our Somali brothers in Central Somalia and the need to deliver the food aid, Puntland has already decided to allow the convoy of trucks to pass through in order to deliver the food. The world food agency was blamed for failing to inform Puntland authorities about the matter and also disobeying the road laws in Puntland; Puntland in case you haven't noticed is a functioning state with functioning bureaucracy and with the proper documentations your free to travel freely about the state. Be sure to tell the UN to bring the proper documentations the next time they feel the need to bypass Bosaso port for the SNM one.SahanGalbeed wrote:The United Nation started unloading some food in Berbera Somaliland .That food was put on trucks and was supposed to go through Puntland . The Puntland authorities first denied our trucks1/ entry 2 / passage..3 / exit to Galkacayo Habar Gidir side . On their way back , our trucks found themselves taken by land pirates and some of our guys are still there . It all makes sense now ,man oh man !
As for the trucks only 9 of the 70 trucks where taken hostage and the issue has since been solved, all have returned to where they came from safely thanks to the state police.
