Sxb, I'm serious that flag is dead weight holding Somalia back. Its original meaning has been distorted to the point it contradicts it.
My point is its a disunting factor and only one part of Somalia its still in demand. So why have something that has no meaning?
Saaxib, the Republic has made alot of mistakes and as a result the country is suffering today. But the flag is the symbol of my people and my people have died for this flag. Don't insult it, bro. You can criticize Somali leaders all you want, but the vision will never die. The flag is a symbol of my peoples' determination and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds and obstacles. it gives us hope when in despair and guides us in these uncertain times.
Let me ask you a question if like today siyaad barre could return but the only way siyaad barre could return is that little qoroxay had to give her life u would die in his place , only then Siyaad barre could come back would u take that chance , and even if he returns the chance him ruling Somalia is very slim
My point exactly TL. I agree with you on why you should have that flag because you are a realist who supports Somalilands self determination efforts. But dont you think a flag that reflects your views would be more suitable. One that represents YOUR PEOPLES aspirations and wishes. This flag does not take in to account the great sacrifice your people have made and how others have hijacked it to serve their own selfish interests. My point is this flag was raised in Hargeisa to show the world our dream to unite under one flag, that dream is no more. Today its burnt in Hargeisa and the other parts have their own flags with little interest towards the blue flag, so is it time we moved on?

When I said "my people" I mean all Somali people, but I get your point. If others want to make their own flags, then all power to them. We will always be Somalia and the Blue Flag will be our flag.

You know having your own flag would unite Hawiye more..keep that in mind.
GeneralSNM, i think i agree with you if Hawiye have their own mamuul goboleed iyo flag i think it would unite them , and daroods will not intervene in their business anymore.

No-one can intervene in Hawiye business
The biggest enemy of Hawiye is Hawiye, sad reality
That flag the Somali people fought for it and it was the first flag raised after Colonialist left Somalia/ Land ., how ever that flag lost its Meaning When people used it for personal interest. and puppet Regimes Even Cabdilahi yusuf the biggest traitor used that flag while inviting Xabashis And Bombing Xammar the capital city of Somalia . It can only get its meaning back and its dignity when The Somali people hold that flag high and use it for the right reasons We the Somalilanders have no problem If the Somalia people wants to keep that flag Every Somali country whether its Somaliland and Djibouti have a star in their flag representing its Somali part.
Twisted, of course there is , why did Abdulahi yusuf intervene with the xamar population , why did other numerous people, why can't hawiye have a firm control over xamar just like isaaq do.

Yes put just like all those other countries see it as a threat and expansionist, so do we.
