Voltage and AW, you guys give a little too much credit to the media, which has long lost journalistic integrity when reporting on blacks and "drug-related murders". Blaming it on "the bustling drug trade" is the most convenient solution...it helps quell the rash of ensuing panic among suburban residents when a homicide occurs, it absolves the police of the responsibility to solve the crime (only 1 out of the 29 homicides involving Alberta Somalis has been solved...and there is no outrage from the general community), etc. Interestingly enough, the one case they solved was one where the killers were Somali and they robbed then killed a hard-working Somali kid who had nothing to do with the drug trade. Don't believe the hype...I don't doubt there was a criminal element on the part of the victim in some of those deaths, but I doubt the story is as clearcut as the media would like to make it seem.

FYI, one of the regular forumers here was very closely related to one of those individuals, which is why I said that comment was uncalled for...it could be just another post on just another thread to you, lakiin not for everyone sxb.

Clowns? Let's concede that some of them were indeed peddling dope...you tell me then, if the drug dealer is a clown, what's a drug fiend? Brother, you should know better than speaking ill of the death. If you do not want to be false and if it is beyond you to wish Allah's Mercy on a kid who's paid the ultimate price for a bad decision, isn't it then much better to not say anything at all instead of making insensitive and nonsensical remarks?

While I would never condone their bad decisions, but one has to remember that these kids have fewer options in Canada. Unlike the States where there are so many opportunities, the Canadian system discriminates young blacks especially Somalis. I heard they can’t even get minimum pay jobs that the local KFC as Indians and Orientals have already franchised those businesses. I have always argued that Canada is more racist than the States. I have so many relatives in Canada with advanced degrees but no jobs. Why is that?

That ain't true. There are plenty of opportunities for anybody who's willing to take advantage of 'em and put in the work. Sometimes, people are drawn to the fast life and the easy money.

The other day I said to my brother, "It would be really nice if we had lived in the clean areas of south minneapolis where all the somalis are at."

He looked at me and said, "It might've been shitty being alone and pitted against a wall in the ghetto but peer pressure with a somali crowd would have you in jail today."

He's totally right, one of my classmates died in a gang war, others are in jail, some are selling drugs, and some went to "jihad" in somalia, barely half of the guys in my age group in high school are still standing and free let alone in college. To top it off, turns out the cutest somali girl in our school that used to flirt/do things with all the guys had like a million STDs, glad I was never close enough with the community to interact with her.

Best way to keep your nose clean is prevention.
