OMG I seriously cant watch that video... it is extremly sad
In that instance all the Taliban did was destroy and idol. Nabi Ibrahim AS did the same thing, and so did our prophet Muhammad SAW.

So in that instance I see nothing wrong with the actions of the Taliban

abdalla11 wrote:manarab do you have proof that it is islamicly permissible to remove a grave?
You remind me of Koronto. Are you asking the question as someone knowledgeable in the teachings of Islam or someone who will google for counter proofs in order to win a point or prolong an argument? If you're the latter, are you willing to take the risk of presenting (from Google) erroneous proofs or ones that do not apply to the argument?

I also found this from IslamQA
on Islam-Q-A

Question :

In 1934, the graves of two companions Hudhaifa al-Yamani and Jabir b. Abdullah al-Ansari were dug in Iraq and were transfered to another place. I have read a long story about them coming in the king's dream and that their face was perfectly ok when they took them out after 1300 years!
Is it true? Even if its true, is it permissible to dig the graves for this purpose?.

Answer :

Praise be to Allaah.

I do not know whether this story is true or not.

With regard to the second part of the question, is it permissible to excavate graves?

We say that the basic principle is that it is not permissible, because of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Breaking the bone of a dead person is like breaking his bone when he is alive.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3207). This indicates that the dead person has a kind of sanctity, and the Muslim has sanctity whether he is alive or dead. If that is the case, then it is not permissible (to excavate graves) unless that is for an obvious reason. Issues of this kind should be referred to a shar’i judge who can decide whether there is such any interest to be served by doing this.

If you knew that I was speaking of something without knowledge, something you've knowledge of, why ask the question? I mean, you could have not asked the question, and some space, the energy to think and type tens of words would have been saved.

This is not a religious move but a strategic political maneuver. The prophet alayhi salaam said that his ummah would never fall into shirk. They wish to destroy the history of the past so that they can control the present and the future. If we were going to fall into shirk, Somali's would of long have fallen into since a lot of shrines have existed for hundreds of years.

i asked you for proof because you didn't condemn them and you sought excuse for their practice, lakiin i'm aware you don't have proof, marka don't comment on islamic issue's without proof.

The phenomena of shrines haven't existed for hundreds of years. Virtually most (if not all) of those shrines have been built during the colonial era. You can prove me wrong by citing the names of those owliyo who have died before the colonial era.

Is it Al-shabaab's right to determin who worships and how they should worship?

There is just no way on earth they will be allowed to maintain control in the region!

Unless they are absorbed into Sheriff's group they wont be around very long. Overall they stain the name of islam.

"Praise be to Allaah.

Building over graves is haraam and was forbidden by the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) because of what it involves of venerating the occupants of the graves and because it is a means that leads to worshipping these graves and taking them as gods besides Allah, as is the case with many of the buildings that were erected over graves; the people began to associate the occupants of these grave with Allah and to call upon them along with Allah, many He be exalted.

Praying to the occupants of the graves and seeking their help to relieve distress is major shirk and constitutes apostasy from Islam. And Allah is the One Whose help we seek. End quote."

You forget who is buried in the mosque of the nabi? who is buried in the kaba?

Look there are shirnes all over the muslim world that have been there thousands of years, but to say that we should get rid of the graves because people will fall into shirk is ridiculous, we are muslims and worship none other than Allah. Now there might be a few instances of ignorant baadiyo people who have been told that if they ask such and such sheikh you'll get what you want, its still not a correct arguement for this.

If the cemetery is retaken by the TFG, Ahlu-Sunnah or other pro-siyaaro groups, the shrine will be rebuilt, and people will go back to grave worshiping or association with shirk. Now, whose scholar/sheikh/owliyo would have wanted that? If I was one, I would bless those who have removed my remains and buried it in an unknown grave.
