But the funny thing is, I only saw East Africans, Indians and South East Asians when I was there. The only time I saw an Arab was on TV and at the airport.

LIE!!! I have been there this passed summer...was there for 4 days and there were a lot of Arabs as well man. Laakiin the Emirate Arabs were very small compared to the rest of the Arabs living there as immigrants. Runtaa waaye tho'...there were a lof of Asians and East Africans there....especially in/around the outside shopping area (not the mall). Somali hotels, restaurants, and Asian stores baa ka buuxay. Laakiin nevertheless, it was very beautiful and loved the diversity of it

A year before that (1989), I got stranded in that area and had to do 'number one' behind the second building. Ah! Those were the days.

To be honest with you Dubai is as fake as it comes. Dont let all this bling bling fool you, they are still an Arab after all and their mind is in 1500 and the City is divided clearly along ethnic lines. It seemed the westerners mostly lived closer to jebel Ali, Marina and Al Barsha where some of my family lives close to the Mall of Emirates and around what ever that main road is called. The Locals live in secluded neighbourhood's and they all know each other like there is no tommorow. Than there are the Arab's who mostly Live in Sharjah and not Dubai and at the bottom is Indian's and Somali's living around the Gold Souq.

Dawwa

As someone who now truly know's dubai in and out i find it a stupid place and one of the most racist places i have ever been in my life. I remember i was pulled over my some stupid police for no Reason around 2 in the morning asking me License and registration and i said i dont remember am speeding or going the wrong way, so what right do you have stopping me and they were like some shit in Arabic and i said speak english or move and than he was like License please. As soon as i handed in my Temp License from the Mahraba Group he looked at the nationality and suddenly stated being nice and was like where are you from originally and i was like none of your business. These bastard's worship a western Passport to the point that when one has an accident there are different level's of money to given if your run over a somali, Indian, Arab, Emirati or American. Iam worth even more than the local.

Warning! Readers discretion is advised. Some of the language used in the next few sentences are not suitable for people with no sense of humor....and kids of course.

I bet xaarku sida gluega ayuu kugu dhagey. That place is so hot, you can't even take a shit. Which is annoying and ironic because the food there actively encourages you to take a shit .
