That's normal in the west too, go to any somali old men hang out spots and they are holding hands walking together.
Somaliboqor, our stomachs are not used to Caano geel and will basically flush out our system so just be aware.

It’s a potent laxative on the untrained stomach

I don't think I can allow a dude to be holding my hands coming from the states that will probably be the one thing I will be the most uncomfortable with.

If you get your camel milk from reputable restaurants or hotels it should be fine. Most cases of heavy diarrhea happen when western Somalis start drinking camel milk bought from street vendors who lack adequate cooling systems and just use simple jerry cans, lol.
So get it from hotels and you should be fine.

Whatever you do, don't touch the water. Not even to rinse your mouth and spit it back.
Next thing you know you'll be giving birth and you'll be unleashing a brown Tsunami on the region of Mudug. I'm not even exaggerating.

Another tip:
Somalis really hate people with camera’s, lol. They immediately think your some kid of spy.
I almost ended up in a police cell in Bosaso for taking pictures of the port/beach area of Bosaso, they even accused me of being Al-Shabaab lol
