Look at the size of the the gun on that though .
I am not too sure if the French have deploeyd it against Russian tanks in Lybian ?/Tchad conflict , but the SA manufactured a similar model and I believe it did wonders against Soviet equipment .Looks small but got a great punch .
As matter of fact the French kept the same gun on its successor

Sahan is former military man, you know.
Unlike Oromos and Afars, who are virtually political minorities Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia, Somalis inherited their own state, but too bad they pissed all over it.

What is so hard about operating that gun? Don't let the looks fool you, buddy. It is just like any other gun. You aim and you shoot.

I am not familiar with that conflict, but the FAMAS is pretty reliable firearm. I don't know what version of the weapon the Jabuti military uses, but this weapon has been the standard issued firearm of the French Military and it performed well in their engagements. Of course, with any weapon, you have advantages and disadvantages. Some firearms are pack more firepower, but they compromise on accuracy, some have good accuracy but no firepower, some have accuracy and firepower but not enough range and so forth and so on. This is not something that is only unique to the FAMAS, but common to all weapons. As I understand, the FAMAS is the standard issued firearm for the Jabuti forces, so I don't know how your idea of it being " museum piece" really fits, here. The ammunition for the AKs would obviously be cheaper. The more operators there are, the cheaper the weapon and its ammunition would be and the opposite is true.
My personal favorite has always been the M4, I can conquer South America with that thing
