Puntland isn't Mogadishu and there is no space for assimilation!

And Xarardheere nor Hobyo is Puntland, we have our own pirates.

Strategically, how does this serve them? taking a one-horse town means nothing. It's holding the major locales that will prove problematic for these guys. It's only a matter of time before infighting brings about their downfall.

I doubt that Puntland will fight at all. There are swarms of Shabab sympathizers in Puntland already who are conducting low level assassinations. I believe once the Shabab cross into Galkacyo, the Puntland forces will melt away just like their counterparts in Cabudwaq etc.

It was the Ethiopian reassurance and the presence of numerous Sacad warriors that drove them away in 2006. If the Sacad had folded in 2006, the Majeerten would have surrendered without a single shot being fired.

We are not weak and disunited like your kin all over South and Central Somalia. I doubt if Al Shabaab is even thinking about Puntland. Mogadishu and everything else in between have to be fully conquered before a single tuulo of Puntland get's on Al Shabaab's agenda.
