The whole music industry is make belief, who cares.

Re: K'naan and his negative perpetuation of Somalia
K'naan is a big foreheaded, long afro haired, talentless drugiiste ninny who is more jileec jileec than the average metrosexual effeminate mali. Why u dedicate an entire Pseudo article about him i dont know.

I agree,Somalis walahi waa dumb badankood oo xaasidiin ah.The guy is earning lots of money and is famous all OVER THE WORLD and that is what matters at the end of the day.People will always try to tarnish the sharaf and sumcad of dadka ka sareeya oo ayan waligood gaari karin. So,Hadal cajuuso ay ku hadaaqday wax ma u dhimayaa? hell no.
Re: K'naan and his negative perpetuation of Somalia
in my neck of the woods, being a rapper has no 'sharaf' attached to it but that's besides the point..the dude can do whatever he likes, but he doesn't need to be fake about it.

He is not the only individual earning money – there are others who are and in more of a respectable manner. And he is not famous all around the world, you are over exaggerating. The guy has fewer than 30,000 followers on twitter – hardly anything to be amazed by.Addoow wrote:Cinque Mtume wrote:You guys in this thread are a bunch of Losers. Secondly, no one is "hating" (that word is so '00 by the way) we are just speaking the truth. If he is going to use Somalia as a platform to make his business fine - but at least once in awhile show some positive images or donate money or even more important build a school.
He made his money about Somalia, yet doesn't care about Somalia. Somalia has been beaten, and bruised she doesn't need more users - she needs helpers. And music transcends people far more than the barrel of the gun.

Interesting argument lakinse what is this positive image that you want promoted? What should he rap about? That country has no good reputation that he is destroying, it wasn't a secret that Somalia is a hell hole.

Re: K'naan and his negative perpetuation of Somalia
The USC was active in Mogadishu as early as 1989, and arguably the civil war began even earlier, the SSDF and SNM started operating in the north as early as 1981.
The people who say everything was perfect until 1991 are living in a fantasy land, in the last years of his presidency Siad Barre controlled little more than part of the capital city, and was often called the "Mayor of Mogadishu".
There is no reason to say that Keynaan didn't see his fair share of war. Especially in 1990 and 1991 his neighborhood of Wardhiigley was a war-zone on par with the worst fighting in the last few years.
He takes artistic liberties maybe, but that's his job, he's a recording artist
