Clearly she'd be classed as a self-hating Maakhiri

Between Southerners aren't "worldly" and havent left Somalia except from Hobyo to Xamar or some refugee camp. So the war gap is there. And a few in numbers left for the Arab world during the civilized days of Somalia.

Tens of thousands of Maakhiris were born in the Arab world for the past 3 centuries, I have great grandparents that were born there. And Maakhiris throughout time have always had a second home there.

The most famous Arab traveller came to Mogadishu! SNM

Not to mention that the reer xamar tribe ancestors are Arabs. I don't think I need to go far into research Ibn Battuta said it all, Mogadishu is the star Somali city and everyone knows this. :)

Clearly "Southern Somali"= Ethnic Somali and again besides the East African Salve trade what history do Southern ethnic Somalis have with Arabs?

ps: Xamar=Mogdhushio Reer=People of, be more specific I can say Reer Bosaaso tribe ancestors were Arabs.

When Ibn Batuta visited Muqdisho he said the emir of muqdisho spoke arabic and the local language. Somali leaders should ideally speak arabic, somali and english.

Shareef speaks great Arabic, probably the one thing He does great. Infact He speaks better Arabic than most Arab heads of State in that His Arabic is 100% fusxa with no dialect.

He does have an accent, but thats not how You decide someone's competency in a language. In a extreme example, to me, Meles Zenawi speaks better English than George Bush. Shareef's Arabic vocabulary, grammer (Naxwa) is very impressive.
