President elect Al-Mujahid Al-halyey Haji Silaanyo and the Kulmiye party will bring about a peaceful settlement in the south and that is as far as we will go. The nature of conflict in the south is clan-based and not religious, it has now been hijacked by outside forces which makes a settlement much more difficult. But Somaliland will empower the traditional elements and infuse life into age old conflict resolution methods and we help bring civil society institutions, we will have to take on this task not because the southern pples have any good will from us, to the contrary; but because instability in Somalia is not in our interest, somaliland is the country least insulated from choas in the south, either we severe all connections and build a wall or solve take on the issue head on before it spills over into Somaliland.

Horta in order for Somaliland to be recognised as most people here wish, they must entertain and allow different ideas to be expressed freely (within reason). Democracy is not only voting in ballots.

Those who disagree with professor samatar should debate him and not insult him or try and exile him. People like sahan will set the road to recognition back decades.

Sicid samatar can come to Somaliland and see for him self and give a lecture in Somaliland’s university’s and even debate with the people of Somaliland , he has to see it for him self.

Yeah that is true. He is not really in exile, nor would his life be in danger if he came to somaliland, however people are quick to insult him because they disagree with him.

You should respect a person’s opinion even though I don’t agree with him on what he says about Somaliland and Somalia. But one thing though the self determination of the people of Somaliland should be respected , But his opinion is always welcome

This isn't Somaliland vs. Somalia, its Somaliland vs. Hawiye, any dawlad in Xamar is their dawlad alone.

No Darood, certainly not Puntland, cares for Hargeisa, its not our concern and we are 100% okay with their autonomy. Our gold is in Xamar and Hawiye are trying to persuade the world to move attention to Hargeisa because they think Darood (actually, just Majerteen) are going to stop hunting for power in Xamar, but the reality is we won't stop the pursuit of a Majerteen sultanate in Xamar until we can no longer afford it.

On paper yes, like I said, we like to take advantage of Xamar, like the Ottoman thieves in Europe. But tell me one Darood or Majerteen city under official TFG control? They are just as autonomous from TFG as Somaliland is, everything is only on paper. Puntland made itself a parallel entity to TFG, they work on different levels; basically they just give us money for moral support, that's it.

Parasites feeding on the carcass of a dead somalia. Konfur is slowly wakingup and we would rather be part of Kenya then have any political ties with the most devious people on earth. You are evil minded people with only 1 common shared goal among all your kind. Total and unshared dictatorship of somaliweyn!!!

It will never happen not in our life time never in time to come. As far as i am concerned Puntland is the property of Midgaans and MJ have stolen it.

Your location on the horn of africa renders you totally isolated unless you have safe passage through the Sool or Mudug corridors. The moment Konfur is able to stand on it's own two feet i promise you there will be two options for you:

1. Become a subserviant region that is drip fed from moqadishu.
2. Break free and make attempts to stand on your own economically.

- You have alienated Sool
- You have alienated Sanaag
- You have limited influence in Mudug
- You have indefinately lost all grounds for future political maneuvers to destabilise S.land

0/4 = you have failed. The verdict is final there is no grounds for an appeal :D go back to piracy. shit take a dive among sharks in the indian ocean since you share a trait with them they might spare you.

that is the the only option that it sems reasonable...for others, let me break it down for you...

1) alienated sool??? man what the heck, just say las canood cuz sool is also populated by others too...
2) sanaag?? what power do MJ have to be able to influence anyone??? in order for them to consider them a threat in sanaag they have to be in good terms with the shot callers of sanaag??? and everyone knows that shot callers are gadhweyn and the day that MJ try to do any maneuvering in sanaag, will be the day that bossasso will feel directly threatened for a hostile take-over
3) future political maneuvers to destabilize SLand??? man you're giving MJ too much credits when to us they're just "next door neighbor that we could go in and out of their door whenever we feel like"..no wonder when there's trouble in sool, our generals always threatened them to conquered garowe if they dont behave, and the simple result is seen in las canood

Hargeysa is not our concern- Sanaag-Bari-Nugaal-Mudug-> Xamar is our goal well for Sanaag and Western Bari. Achieving stability and long standing peace in Xamar is our objection. And when the day comes will rule it as we did South of it during our Sultanate.

Sanaag-Bari-Nugaal-Mudug is all inhabited by a majority of the same people with the same interest.

Well I will try to be fair to the Samater guy even though he was really unfair and spiteful about somaliland. He is "exaggerating" about not being allowed to have a different view in somaliland. For gods sake, somaliland clans have all forgiven eachother when s/land was created in 1991. Does that sound like a society that punishes people for their opinions? no they are the most tolerant somalis fullstop!

Mr Samater is just annoyed that the vast majority of landers agree with somaliland's independence, he would like to portray them to the outside world as being co-erced or bullied into being passionate somlailananders but anyone with 2 brain cells can see the reality on the ground
