You are clearly unable to answer the question. Because you know before 1887, there was nothing known as Somaliland. Because it was the British who bore that name.

Perhaps you mean to tell us they were known as part of Somalia? Prior 1887 Somalis were divided along clan lines each ruled by local clan elders, suldans, garads etc..

Southern Somalia has been searching peace and stability in the past 19 years. It is still searching. Somaliland has been searching recognition in the past 19 years. It is still searching.

Recognition is a luxury in the eyes of those who have no peace!
