The GOP is using this to gain votes, their MO is fear and when you put fear into people they don't think rationally.
And the reasoning of not putting the Center because its the same religion as the extremists is one of the stupidest arguments I have ever seen. And it is appalling that people overlook and dehumanize the Muslims who actually died in the World Trade Center and the Muslims who were apart of the first responders who risked their lives to save people on 9/11//2001.
There also is a Masjid closer to Ground Zero, thats been there since the 1970s. Friday Prayers were also conducted in the World Trade Center.

Also, the Center being built, will be a LEED Certified building, meaning it will be a Green Building.

In attempt to deflect criticism away from his darling Michelle Obama'. on the charges of marie antoinette excesses (a comparison that has severely annoyed me on the grounds of marie antoinette beauty memory)..he started a media firestorm endorsing the building of the ground zero mosque. What a cat!

Anyway--my opinion on this matter is---Build the mosque somewhere else. Please--Islam is about peace and not self interests. Why does it matter if the mosque is build some where else? We should be thankful to Allaah that we live in a christian majority country and are allowed to build a mosque for that matter. Alaaah daadku kibir badaana.

Manhattan is a busy area and a mosque is needed there. Why should it be moved, Islam didn't attack the world trade centers, Al Qaeda. Its a slap in the face if it were to be moved. Muslims have a right to build the mosque where ever they want

It is also needed because the Masjid Manhattan that has been next to ground zero for years was evicted and the worshippers are in a cramped area. Plus, this is going to be a multipurpose community center.
Its amazing how ignorant people are and how they fear what they don't understand. Muslims shouldn't be apologetic, its in our right to build wherever the hell we want, they bought the place and can do whatever.

There have been more crazy Christian terrorists in American history terrorizing people on the behalf of their beliefs then there has ever been crazy muslims terrorists in America. Is Christian terrorism being propagated as relflection of the Christian population? No.
Are Christians being demonized in the media? No
If Christians terrorists had flown an airplane into those buildings would you ever hear people asking for churches not to be built? No
So build that mosque.

If this center isn't built then forget about any rights you have in this country as a muslim. It is that simple. If one right is taken away then all of them will be eventually. Any muslim naive enough to support those who are opposed to this mosque should really think hard about what they are supporting. As for munafiqiin, it is expected for them to support anyone who is out to deny muslims any rights.

Americans could not have made any clearer, America is at war with the Religion of Islam and those who practice it, in an informal way off course. Now a Mosque being build near ground zero, has really brought out some emotions and shines a light to the hidden agenda of this war.
This shit has been playing on cable T.V news for weeks now.
I just wish I could be part of the CNN panel to say my piece.
