I was listening to this waqooyi sheikh in tahaajud and i enjoyed listening to this accent and I actually understood i want to learn how to speak this accent it seems more straight foward than standard somali accent so what is the grammar structures etc..

you dont say Gogol xaar u say Gogol xaadh U need to know when you use the dh And not the R

bingo that is the standard accent i personaly admire reer mudug accent
but the accent that is mostly written in somali books is waqooyi accent

Weeye is reer mudug. If Siilanyo and AY gave a speech, more ppl will understand AY than Siilanyo, the same goes to sh sharif

I don’t know mudug accent there is to much ma jidho ma budhna to much of thad dh dh they over use it ereyada na wey ji jidaan wuu imahayaa instead of wu imanaya wuu jibshahaya instead of Jibsanaya that’s how they talk

i think the best af soomaali is that spoken in galbeed. Somali thats spoken in the south has lots of italian mixture. Somali spoken in somaliland has lots of english and arabic influences. I think somali galbeed should be the standard

yes in some how waqooyi accent can be standerd but my point, the accent understood by every somali person from kismayo to awdal is the mudug accent, some people barely enderstand our accent.

Hargeysay is right reer-mudug is the most understood by everyone, it is essentially standard somali....lakiin waxaan ku qoslaa most people don't know reer-mudug much kuwa yar-yar badankookd...they always says you guys speak kind of like qaldaan but not as much....


there is one word that ever somali uses besides reer-mudug...which I hate ...it is malaha....it annoys me for some reason...
