Wedding parties & the whole wedding experience means a lot to women from what I've noticed. Most dudes don't understand the fuss over weddings, but telling a woman not to lose her sanity when it comes to her wedding is asking too much. Even the religious ones insist on having same gender parties which can easily cost a small fortune. I think moderation is key, rather than refusing a ceremony all together or insisting on a small affair, maybe the couple can work something out. As for a honeymoon, its a bit over-rated. I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over it if it didn't happen. Investing in a house or setting up a savings plan is a better alternative than coughing up serious money for a wedding ceremony or a honeymoon.

Qoraxey, that mentality is exactly what's wrong with many marriages. You can't just get married and BOOM get pregnant. Waayo? Why not get to know what its like to live with the person first? I would hate to get married and get pregnant in the first 5 months. Mmm, not happening! Then again, who am I to predict the future!

The only reason I'll get married is to have a kid :|

Do ninkah, then go away on a honeymoon. Wedding will attract many ungrateful people, who couldn't care less about you or your wedding. They are there to eat, meet people to date, talk rubbish about other people, or just to have a whale of a time.....It is waste of time and money in a nutshell.
Dude a meal is very Important in Islamic Culture. The more stomach's u feed the better. A meal is the least u can do.  .

A honeymoon needs to be definitely on the table. A hot country nice beaches good food. 4 weeks. I just wanna get the hell out of Britain.

Yea but most girls do not realize this. It is a status/competition thing, and each girl has to outdo the other girl's wedding. Its not about enjoying Yourself for the girls, but for name and to be the talk of the town.

Qoraxeey, there's more to life than getting knocked up. Do you think that's all you're worth? Don't get me wrong, I want kids but don't get married just to have a kid. If that's the case, why not just get married for 9 months and then get divorced?

You want your child to have a father but you could never see yourself loving your child's father? That doesn't sit well with me!

This discussion is about vacas, where did having children come from anyways?

I'm all for a 2 week getaway, IDK why anyone else would like to have their first week at Hilton/Hyatt or your new home which you will livin in for the next couple of years? Do something different, spice it up a little.

Nobody said without a wedding. We're talking about reasonable weddings not $50,000 weddings

So u wanna play that quote game. I didn't mean "no wedding" when Lord Diplock said that what I meant was a tripple combo.

A) A respectable modest wedding
B) A trip overseas/vacation/honeymoon right after the wedding
C) Maybe a little change/savings left over to start the new life after return.

To Me that is 100x better than blowing everything so people can shake their tailfeather for 2 hours with a bunch of Somalis u don't even know and most of the people there to critique Your wedding, and at the end of the day the Couple not even having fun while on the other hand You coulda toned that down a bit, and been pina coladas on a beach in Dubai. Its not penny pinching, it is being smart and using recourses for maximum benefit/enjoyment
