we as Muslims use the phrase mashaa allah to indicate the blessings and mercy of Allah also to highlight the fact that Allah has willed it because we know and believe that EVERYTHING occurs and everything is obtained/achieved because of The Will Of ALLAH SWT which is the meaning of ''maasha allah''. As mentioned in the qur'an in many verse '' WA LAAHU CALAA KULU SHAYIN QADIIR'' meaning (rough translation) '' Verily ALLAH is He who wills(ed) everything''.

And ALLAH SWT KNOWS BEST.

well said! U reminded me of a debate i had with some friends who said Weris Dirie was too ugly and should've never tried modelling. That conversation took the wrong turn when they tried to convince me the lighter the prettier.

In Somali culture that little boy wouldn't be considered to be Somali though, while Raageh's kids would, since their father is Somali.

I used to go to school with a half Somali girl *her father was also Jamaican* and everyone treated her like a typical Somali *she was raised by her grandmother in a all somali household*..
