Dude it aint the Adaan, you guys haven't been there but to put this into perspective:

1. Multiple adaan's blaring at once.
2. Poor quality speakers distorting the sound.
3. Not very strong walls to protect you from it.

If they used their voices wallahi it would sound more beautiful.

I have been out there and I love it wallahi. I wish it was like that here. I never missed a salaat or was late for it the whole time was there.

^Same here, I enjoyed hearing it when I went back a couple of years ago. But, it does take some getting used to. It wasn't an issue growing up and having masjids at every few blocks, but its been so long, it won't be as easy just picking up things where we left off and this applies to pretty much every aspect of our lives. Plus, back then, there was municipio & building codes people had to deal with, not to mention noise ordinance, now everyone builds as they see fit and without any regard for anyone.

Most shocking thing I heard regarding loud speakers was make-shift cinemas broadcasting their movies with loud speakers, sometimes even inappropriate movies in some parts of Xamar.
