Half,
While I am not going to deny the Baajuun presence in Kismaayo, what about the about people who fought for it centuries ago. My great grandfather was killed in Kismaayo by the British close to 120 years ago. The Baajuuns weren't protecting Kismaayo, they were making shelters for the invading colonies. Very unfortunate how Somalis pick and chose their history ignoring the realities:". The Ogaden Chiefs were called to Kismayu by the Commissioner to meet at a Durbar. During one of the discussions one of the chiefs attempted to murder the Commissioner by throwing a knife at him. The Commissioner had been warned to expect something of this sort and had hidden a strong guard in other rooms of the residency. When the trouble began the guard reacted immediately by storming the room and killing all the chiefs except for a few who were able to escape by jumping from the windows of the residency. It was decided to take punitive measures to bring the Ogaden to order".

Voltage,
Its not a secret that Absame have traditionally settled in the surrounding towns to Kismaayo prior to the civil war. I've never visited Kismaayo, but did visit Bu'aale once as a child, its where Cawliyahan mostly settle and always grew up knowing Kismaayo being a metropolitan city with different clans living in it, I don't recall it belonging to Ogaadeen, Mareexaan or Majeerteen. After the civil war, Absame & Majeerteen fought over its administration, then finally as you recall, Morgan declared the city a Harti city. It was taken from him by Barre Hiiraale. Then the UIC took it, Hiiraale re-took it, UIC and Al-shabaab finally retook it.
As far as I'm concerned, neither Mareexaan, nor Majeerteen, nor Ogaadeen own the city. Just like nor abgaal, nor Hawiye own Xamar.

I agree and never declared it a Marehan city.

I noticed nothing good ever comes out of discussions like this. My knowledge of Kismaayo & Absame in Jubbooyinka is very limited. I only go by what I heard & saw when I was young and historically speaking, Kismaayo has always been a metropolis and not a clan enclave. At least that's how I like to think of it. I have nothing against Mareexaan or anyone else living there.
And I'm done with this discussion.

Half,
Please read the history of Jubaland. I have never seen so much history written about any part in Somalia than that of Jubaland. Once you read that history, then hopefully you would make educated comments. And by the way, I would never want kismaayo to be ONLY Ogaadeen city. I remember when we visit there how diverse the city was and I want it to stay that way. You can't build a city along clan lines.

I'm reer Waamo, wax la dhaho "Harti" ma jiro. hal nin oo dhulbahante iyo dhoor nin warsangeli ayaa ahaa reer waamo
And a large quantity of majerteens immigrated to kismaayo in 1960ties. reer waamo sax ah waxaad ka helaaysaa 10 ama 20 majerteen families
don't believe what you read majerteen gave false information to English, they used to lie, stay away from these sicko's. these people are sociopaths, they are not allies.

That is certainly true.
Guhad is right and I agree, Majerteen are the lifeline of Kismayo, just compare the city before and after our period of domination - its like a hurricane took place when we left the throne.
Either way though, whether you are looking at waamo or mudug, the south is dominated both ways by Majerteen and we will continue to steer its politics.

Xilkan, waxaa dadaal ugu jira tiro siyaasyiin Soomaaliyeed ah, kuwaasoo la hadlay saxaafadda sheegayna inay kasoo bixi karaan howsha culus ee hortaalla Ra'iisul wasaaraha cusub, iyadoo la filayo inuu ka yimaado dhinaca Puntland, maadaama ay dowladdu ku dhisan tahay nidaamka 4.5.
-If you understand the quote, it says that some PMs lobbying for a prime minister said he may be from Puntland, which means that they are just wishful puntland pms.

I dont get it, So does that mean the PM will be from Puntland?
It's just Ironic that some people in here think of Puntland as not a Southerner when i view them as such. Everthing East of Las Anod is South to most people in the North.
