His excellency Abdullahi Yusuf is not suffering from anorexia, he is just elderly and that how senior citizens look like at that age. The man is a living legend and one of the few living decent, patriotic Somali intellectuals left in the world today. He has accomplished so much in his life and his people will forever be grateful to him. Mudane A/Y, may you live forever!

The irony is, Somalis are killed by foreingers more than when A/Y was in power. The same people who were crying loud and knocking everydoor in the US and Europe are quiet now and some of the loudest characters are serving the TFG..What changed? Nothing except for the tribe of the President..

A/Y is in his late 80s and for someone who has lived his kind of life, he is still in good shape, as he can walk and speak on point.

A/Y is a War Hero who valiantly served his country during times at war. As an army officer, A/Y participated in the Somali-Ethiopian wars of 1964 and 1977. He was decorated for bravery in both conflicts. He was the first Somali brave enough to take up arms against a dictatorship that was destroying his country from within. He served prison time, both in Somalia and Ethiopia. He fought the USC and won. He fought al-Itihaad al-Islamiya, as they were trying to get a grip of Bosaso in the 90s was captured and almost killed but his troops came to the rescue, and brought an end to a political ideology that would later hunt present day Somalia. He is the founding father of a regional State, that today is a model for an entire country. He reinstated, the Kingdom that was started in 18th century, which is modern day Puntland. He has failed no short of perhaps the greatest political minds of Somalia history. Within Puntland circles is an overachiever and his name is held higher than both Boqor Osman Mahamuud and Yusuf Ali Kenadid.

A/Y took mold steps against the traitors who live in the triangle up North, made clear to the world that they should not be given any attention. Give them nothing to boost about as they were no longer the only peaceful and administrated region in the country. Took mighty military action against them in early 2004 when they tried to go for land grabs, their foolish clan militia were badly defeated and humiliated to the world.

He participated in the Somali peace conference held in Kenya, and because he is a political genius was elected Somali President overwhelming by perhaps the most diverse Somali Parliament in the nation's history. The 2004 Somali Presidential run up was the most awaited major political Somali event of our time. Millions of Somali tuned in whether through radio, television or internet mind you I personally didn't sleep a minute that whole 24hrs. Never since the civil war was hope so high among Somalis in the reestablishing of the Somali State. A/Y managed to do what many doubted, which was to moved the government from Nairobi to Mogadishu. It took almost three years but eventually that mission was competed, after many obstacles put forth by dawladiids, terrorists, and USC members were overcame. After studying and understanding the political standing of the most corrupt and unskilled people among the Somali population, A/Y realized foreign troops were essential for a new Somali government to operate in Mogadishu. Massive Ethiopian and African Union troops were called in to crush the opposition and maintain peace.

But due to the environment, clan politics and a Virus beyond control who has been feed, sheltered, supported and funded by locals, the clans of the USC once again managed to engineer an uncontrollable monster who had no loyalties called Al Shabaab who hunts them to this day. Adding fuel to fire were those creating mischief within the Government. Unable to work with short sighted, qabil driven and corrupt politicians A/Y peacefully resign and handed power over. Two years later zero progress has been made and Somalia is in Status quo.
