There is a lot that can and will be said about Siad Barre, he ruled for 21 years with an Iron fist, and is the root cause of all evil in Somalia. I understand your family lived off Siyad Barre's fruits very nicly in Mogadishu, but don't come in this forum comparing a man consider among the worst African dictators to brave men like Abdullahi Yusuf iyo Siilaanyo who picked up an AK47 to save their country from a brutal madman who had no limits.Executive wrote:If you support Abdullahi Yusuf, Siilaanyo, Aideed and all other War Criminals, you shouldn't say anything about Said Barre.
Sorry bro, but Somalilands very own Al Gore is not in league with AY or MSB.Somalian_Boqor wrote:There is a lot that can and will be said about Siad Barre, he ruled for 21 years with an Iron fist, and is the root cause of all evil in Somalia. Siyad Barre was a qabilist to the core, and his history is well known. He was a sick minded man that brought an entire nation on it's nee's.
Respecting Siyad Barre is a disrespect to the country of Somalia and it's People!
Well he's dead now isn't he? It's not in our culture to talk bad about the deceased.Somalian_Boqor wrote:There is a lot that can and will be said about Siad Barre, he ruled for 21 years with an Iron fist, and is the root cause of all evil in Somalia. Your lack of Knowledge for Somali history is quite compelling. Lets just leave it at that.Cirwaaq wrote:He is the last man to lead a republic for united somalis and is about all we can get an agreement on. Idoors died for him in the war with Ethiopia and Idoors died as he made every attempt to hang on to the carcass of the dead republic. Idoors action was purley defensive.
Abdullahi yusuf's attempt to overthrow siyad was the precurson to his paranoid delusions and aggressive tactic to crush all opposition. Had the abdullahi yusuf coup attempt not occured the somali republic would have rebuilt, regrouped and today Ogadeen and NFD would have been liberated lands. These groups actions is offensive at all cost
We would all be enjoying a somaliweyn life had there been sufficient political pressure placed on Siyad's regime and there was a united stand against his hold on power. Unfortunately loyalty is easily bought and the typical somali will sell his grand mother for loose change or seat in a virtual ministery.
At least Mad Mullah and his followers joined the Arsi oroma so wasn't too far from home.GENERAL_SNM wrote:They say history always repeats itself. If only Afweyne had taken notes of the fall of his predecessor the late Mad Mullah. He would have not made the same mistakes as he did and finish with the same result. Both dying as refugees in far away lands.
If its not in our culture why are these sick people wanting to celebrate .. the ex president who killed so many innocent people ! ..BlackVelvet wrote:Well he's dead now isn't he?
